Outside of work, he's a pilot, traveling to experience new places, spending time with his family… and doing his best not to be a nerd.

Joined Layer 9 in 2006. Expertise: Loren is passionate about building better ways to work. She focuses on operational efficiency, developing strong teams, and creating new opportunities that drive real value for our clients and position Layer 9 for continued growth. Outside of work, she loves being outdoors near the water, trying new restaurants, and dragging her family along on whatever adventure she’s planned next.

Joined Layer 9 in 2014. Expertise: Travis brings a unique strength in understanding people and helping them reach their potential. He focuses on relationship-building, aligning individuals with roles where they can thrive, and creating an environment where accountability and growth go hand in hand. His goal is simple: when people are in the right seat, they flourish, and so does the team. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, hunting, riding ATVs, and taking in the stillness of nature. He values the perspective and peace that comes from time outside.

Joined Layer 9 in 2023. Expertise: Shaniqua specializes in client communication and building trusted relationships. She ensures IT conversations create clear alignment between our clients’ goals and our technical teams, helping projects and strategy move forward smoothly. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring local farmers markets and learning new healthy habits that support a positive lifestyle.

Joined Layer 9 in 2025. Expertise: With 20 years focused on the legal industry, Bobby specializes in aligning technology, workflow, automation, and AI to streamline operations. He brings people, process, and the right tools together to create smarter, more efficient environments for firms. Outside of work, you’ll find him stepping behind the DJ booth, because great flow matters just as much in music as it does in technology.

Joined Layer 9 in 2024. Expertise: With more than 20 years in Healthcare IT, Mike brings deep industry knowledge and strategic insight to his clients. He holds a Computer Science degree from Radford University, is PMP certified, and specializes in healthcare environments and Microsoft 365 cloud strategy. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering and coaching youth athletics.

Joined Layer 9 in 2016. Expertise: Joe specializes in translating clients’ business goals into the right strategic technology decisions at the right time. He partners closely with leadership teams to ensure IT investments support growth, efficiency, and long-term success. Outside of work, you’ll find him playing guitar and singing in a local acoustic duo, bringing the same rhythm and harmony to music that he does to technology strategy.

Joined Layer 9 in 2023. Expertise: Jon specializes in Mobile Device Management across Mac and PC environments, SharePoint administration, and workflow development. He focuses on building structured, efficient systems that help clients work smarter. Outside of work, he enjoys creating art, from traditional painting to graphic design.

Joined Layer 9 in May 2018 (Intern → Network Administrator in 2021). Expertise: With a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Christopher Newport University, Steven specializes in Azure cloud computing, virtual desktops, virtualization (Citrix, VMware, Windows Server), Microsoft 365, and network architecture. He focuses on designing stable, scalable systems that support long-term client growth. Outside of work, he enjoys building out his homelab for continued professional development, playing video games, and cycling.
